TIPS ON HOW TO STOP BLOATING

Hey loves! Welcome back to my blog. Recently, I’ve been having some maaaajor bloating issues 🤪. I used to hear of people talking about bloating but never thought much of it. As far as I gather, bloating is something that can happen as you get older and it can be caused by anything from hormones to food intolerances and other things. **One thing I want to point out as a disclaimer is that this is just my personal experience with bloating and what helps me. However, if you feel like you are struggling with it or are getting it persistently and it’s making you worried or uncomfortable please go and visit your GP doctor for a wee check-up on it.**

DRINK MORE WATER

I have always heard that drinking lots of water is good for bloating which I always thought was weird because you feel like your adding to the bloat right? However by drinking more water it flushes out all of the waste and toxins and also any leftover water that your body might hang on to. One cause of bloating can be water retention and the best way to get rid of that is to basically drink more and therefore go to the toilet more! So that is a handy and easy tip. Experts say we should all be drinking at least around 2 litres of water a day which amounts to around 8 glasses. It seems hard but actually it’s quite easy if you make it a habit and also not to mention it is super good for your skin and overall health so really, it’s a win win to increase your water intake overall! I noticed that Matalan are doing a cute hydration reminder water bottle for £5 just now – it has times and reminders drawn up the side of the bottle to remind you when to drink more! Easy peasy!

EXERCISE

Exercise is one thing that I have found really helps with my bloating! You don’t even need to be a member of a gym, just getting out in nature and talking a walk, jog or run for 30mins would do the trick – just something to get your body moving and heart pumping so you feel less sluggish! In the gym I normally stretch, do a quick blast of cardio then a mixture of weights and HIIT style exercises. I always find once I’m home the bloat is gone! Again exercise is so good for your overall wellbeing so another win win tip!

DRINK PEPPERMINT TEA –

Myultimate tip! I posted this on my Instagram story the other day because I couldn’t believe how much it helped me (if you want to follow me my insta is @lucyrachaelx). Peppermint tea is good for bloating because it aids digestion and according to google – “Peppermint has relaxant and antispasmodic properties and can help relieve cramps and spasms in the gastrointestinal tract, bile duct and gallbladder.” I honestly wish I had a before picture to show you guys because it was amazing the difference! I’ve always loved peppermint tea because I’m a total herbal tea lover in general but I love it even more now! I aim to drink three cups a day and it is totally aiding my digestion so much – I highly recommend trying it out especially for bloating. It doesn’t have to be a specific brand of peppermint tea, just any from your local supermarket will do. The one I’m currently drinking is the Twinings Pure Peppermint and it is really nice.
