So I don’t know about you, but sometimes I am the World’s most motivated and driven person, getting loads done, running errands and still managing to fit in a food shop and gym session. Then I have those ‘other’ days where I am completely unmotivated and unwilling to do anything other than reach over to switch on my laptop and binge on the Real Housewives. Some days I have so many ideas for what I want to do and achieve then others I have zilch. Nothing. Nada. These days can sometimes make you feel down and worthless, as if you aren’t capable of achieving your goals and dreams. Whenever I feel like this, I love to refer back to motivational quotes, books or videos that I have used as a tool in the past to motivate me. They always do the trick and help me get straight back on track. So recently, a friend gave me a book I have been wanting to read for such a long time and that book, is #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso who is the CEO and Founder of the online clothing store, Nasty Gal.

As you all know, I am a total follower and believer of The Secret and the Law of Attraction and I 100% believe that I manifested this book into my life. Not because I couldn’t afford it or anything, truth be told I have been so busy recently I barely have time to sit down with a good book. However I believe that the Universe will give you exactly what you need, exactly when you need it – and Lawwwwd knows I needed this! Recently with my blog and social media, I have been sort of lacking in the inspiration department – which has then naturally affected my motivation. However, after reading this book I feel so inspired and so motivated to keep pushing on and making my dreams become a reality. That’s exactly what this book does. It makes you want to get up and go and make your dreams happen and it is so interesting to learn about how Sophia has done this in her own life. I would describe the book as part self-help, part memoir. Sophia explains all of the ups and downs and twists and turns of building Nasty Gal, from starting off in her room selling vintage clothes via her online EBay shop, to owning a huge warehouse and office space in Los Angeles and employing over 350 staff.  The book is filled with inspiring quotes and advice on how to apply yourself to become your very own #GIRLBOSS. Another great feature of this book is that Sophia writes in the style of as if you were talking to a friend, which is what I think makes the words so relatable and meaningful. I also particularly enjoyed how Sophia included short anecdotes from some of her employees and other Girlbosses alike because you are also getting insights into other successful women and how they achieved their goals and dreams. If you are feeling stuck, lost or deflated this is the book for you! You can find it on Amazon here.

Okay so on to the blog updates! As you all know I absolutely love my blog. It’s my baby and it makes me so happy to have my own little space on the internet where I can write about what I want, whenever I want and share my passions with you all. However recently, I have come to realise I am putting far too much pressure on myself when it comes to my blog and having too much of a strict ‘schedule’. I guess I got caught up in what I ‘thought’ I should be doing instead of just doing what I want to do. With that being said, I’ve decided to not have a posting schedule any more and post on whatever day of the week suits me. Some days I feel a lot more inspired than others and thats when I feel I write to the best of my abilities. So instead of strictly posting on Fridays, I might post on a Wednesday, or a Sunday for example. There may be 2 posts in one week depending on what I’m writing about or there may be only be 1. The thing is, I’m the type of person who likes to take ‘inspired action’ and do what I feel is best in that moment and having such a strict schedule with my blog doesn’t always allow me to take that inspired action. So basically, in a nutshell, I’m not going anywhere – just changing things up a tiny bit. Also I have a special little project in the works currently that I am perfecting for you all and I’m sure a lot of you will love it. Hopefully I can tell you more about it soon but bare with me guys!

As always, please feel free to follow me on social media lovelies to keep up with what I’m up to, my links are in the right hand side bar on a PC or the bottom of the page on a mobile. You can also find me on Snapchat to see little snippets into my daily life my username is – lucykennedy18.

Thank you all so much for reading and please let me know if you read #GIRLBOSS or have already read it – I’d love to hear your thoughts! Lots of love until next time,
