Hi guys! So I wanted to do a quick fashion post today because spring is finaaaally here! Don’t get me wrong I love winter and wearing cosy knits and layers and fur coats but I am so happy that the nicer weather has finally arrived and it’s time to update my wardrobe to brighter and lighter clothes. Every year at this time I always have a massive ‘spring clean’ and completely gut my wardrobe and drawers out of all the old clothes, bags and shoes I no longer use or wear anymore. Not only does it feel soooo good to get rid of all your old clothes and junk but it gives you lots of room to then go and buy some new pieces.
When you think about changing your wardrobe into a complete new season it can always seem daunting and costly however, it doesn’t need to be! You don’t have to throw away everything you own and start again. I like to keep a good few key pieces from the year or two before like jackets and a couple of pairs of good quality jeans etc. that still have a lot of wear left in them. Then you can easily build your new little wardrobe as you go and also mix and match or dress certain things up or down.
I was passing through Dunnes the other day and managed to pick up a couple of really cute little tops that are so perfect for spring. They are a lovely soft material and have the really cute bell shaped cuffed sleeves which are just so on trend at the moment. I got one in pastel pink and couldn’t resist getting it in cream as well. They were £17 each and I love how although they are really simple, they are still chic enough to be dressed either up or down. When I picked them up I envisioned wearing them either with jeans or leggings with trainers for the daytime or maybe leather skinnies and barely there heels for a night time look. Last night Kyle and I went out for a little casual date night to the cinema to see Fast and Furious 8 and went for a Nandos. As it was just a casual night I wore my pastel pink top tucked into my favourite leather skinny high waisted trousers from Primark (only £12 too – bargain!) and my Puma Basket Heart trainers. To add a bit of glam and sparkle I wore some oversized gold hoops and a pastel pink glitter crossover clutch bag. I thought it was a cute wee look and shows just how versatile this little top is. I’m excited to wear the cream one soon!
Over the next week or two I am definitely going to be popping into Primark as well to see what new bits and bobs they have in for this season because I have been finding Primark has seriously upped their game in the past couple of years and I just love it! Be sure to keep an eye out on my Snapchat lucykennedy18 for a clothing haul when I do because as we all know, when I go to Primark, all bets are off!
Have you found any nice pieces for spring recently? Let me know in the comments – I always love having a browse at what everyone else has found and is loving! As always don’t forget to follow me on social media to keep up with when I post and what I’m up to. Thanks so much for reading and have a fab weekend lovelies. Lots of love until next time,
