Hello lovelies! Welcome back to the blog. Are you all in the festive spirit yet? I definitely am. I got my hair done this morning, my shoes and outfits for all of the big nights out have arrived (blog post to follow of course) and my presents for everyone are wrapped and under the tree. I was saying on Snapchat during the week there that I feel like Mrs Claus this year because I am so organised! If you want to follow me on Snapchat and keep up with what I am upto over the festive season/outfit and make-up details etc then feel free to add me: lucykennedy18.
So today as you can all tell from the title I am bringing you a little fake tan review of a new product I have tried. I have heard of this brand a couple of times before so I picked some of their tans up at the Girls Day Out. The girls on the stand were so lovely and helpful and I bought some of their tanning mists and also their mousse which is the one I’ve tried so far. I also bought two of their skin polish and exfoliators that you can use to remove the tan but I will include more detail about that at the end of the post.
So as most of you know I am a fake tan fiend! I do a tan every single Thursday without fail so that it is fresh for the weekend. I used to use Xen Tan all the time but it is quite expensive for just weekly use so now I mostly keep that for special occasions. For the past year I have used the good old St. Moriz however I have noticed recently it has been going super scaly on me and has become really stubborn to get off so I thought I would give the Make Believe tanning mousse a try. On first impressions the smell is lovely as the tan has Argan Oil included in it and it is also ‘paraben free’ which is a plus too. One thing I will say is the consistency of the product is a lot runnier compared to other mousses I have used but I think that might be because it has the Argan Oil in it so it makes it a lot more liquid filled however if you give the bottle a good shake it does foam up easier when you pump it out. I was really impressed with the colour when I first applied it and then what I did was let it dry for about 10mins before putting on my pyjamas and jumping into bed! I slept with it on so it could develop although it says on the bottle it develops within 2-4 hours. I always like to sleep overnight with any gradual tanner so I get a really deep colour.
When I woke up I was pleased to see I didn’t have orange hands or any streaks at all. My skin actually felt nice and silky compared to sometimes when I’ve used St. Moriz got a while my skin can feel a bit clogged and dry. After showering I was super happy with the colour that had developed it was so nice and golden and I was really impressed, no orange tones or streaky bits in sight! Over the course of the week it lasted soooo well and the tan did exactly what it said on the bottle and just ‘faded’ off gradually instead of going scaly which is a major plus point for me! Here is some before and after pictures that I took of my skin before tanning, once I had applied it and then after I had showered in the morning. As you can see the colour is nice and golden and natural.
I exfoliated the dead skin and remaining tan off yesterday using the Make Believe Spa Polish and Exfoliator which has little granules in it and again smells fantastic and makes your skin so soft and smooth. The bottle is also huge so you would definitely get a lot of use out of it! The remaining tan came off like an absolute dream and wasn’t stubborn at all. I also used my trusty tan eraser which I cannot live without when it comes to removing fake tan. The tan eraser is an exfoliating tan removing mitt and it is so fantastic I honestly don’t know what I did to remove my tan before! They are only £7 and last for ages (I had my last one for about 6+ months before I replaced it and it was still great).
So overall I am totally LOVING this tan guys. It is truly fabulous and I think it might be my new favourite! Let me know if you decide to give it a try I love hearing from you all! If you want to have a look at the products you can do so here. The two products are both on their site for £5 just now which is fab. I should also mention this is not #Ad or #spon.
